November 18–20 — The 15th GG Lithium Battery Annual Conference was successfully held in Shenzhen, bringing together numerous leading companies across the entire battery industry chain. Highstar, a long-standing industry leader, was invited to attend the event and secured the prestigious “2025 GG Golden Globe Award – Fifteen-Year Evergreen Honor.”This award recognizes Highstar’s decades-long dedication to the lithium battery sector and its sustained breakthroughs in material systems, structural design, intelligent manufacturing, and application innovation. It highlights not only Highstar’s accumulated technical strength in specialized segments, but also its continuous contribution to driving technological advancement across the industry.

During the event, Highstar General Manager Chen Gang delivered a keynote speech titled “Building the Optimal High-Rate Market Solution with a Lithium–Sodium Combination,” presenting the company’s strategic framework for multi-technology battery integration. Traditional high-rate application scenarios include power tools, automotive start-stop systems, UPS, and backup power supplies. Except for power tools—where lithium battery adoption is relatively mature—other high-rate markets remain dominated by lead-acid batteries, though lithium adoption continues to accelerate. From a performance perspective, the significant differences in energy density and safety between lithium and lead-acid batteries mean the two do not directly compete in high-rate markets. To further expand lithium penetration into broader high-rate applications, Highstar has pushed the limits of lithium power capability through its all-tab design and new structural solutions, launching two flagship products: tabless cylindrical cells and 10C charge-discharge square LFP cells.

The lithium–sodium synergy is expected to accelerate the replacement of lead-acid batteries. Highstar’s high-rate lithium batteries are rapidly entering UPS, automotive start-stop, and emergency power applications. Meanwhile, sodium batteries—featuring high safety, ultra-wide operating temperature range, low heat generation, and long cycle life—effectively compensate for lithium’s performance limitations in certain lead-acid replacement scenarios.
In the panel discussion, Jiang Xu, General Manager of Highstar Sodium Battery (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., highlighted the tremendous growth potential of backup energy storage for data centers, with future demand expected to rise from tens of gigawatt-hours to more than 300 GWh. For short-duration backup needs (typically around 15 minutes), polyanion-based sodium batteries offer high-rate capability without requiring capacity oversizing, reducing both investment and footprint costs. Their inherent high safety performance also effectively addresses lithium’s safety barriers in such scenarios. As a result, sodium batteries are poised to become the optimal solution for data center backup energy storage.
Highstar’s receipt of the “2025 GG Golden Globe Award – Fifteen Years of Excellence” represents a highly authoritative recognition from GG Lithium Battery. The award honors companies with more than a decade of sustained excellence in technological innovation, industry advancement, reliability practice, and market contribution. With over 30 years of accumulated expertise, Highstar has experienced the full evolution of the battery industry—from early-generation technologies to today’s advanced lithium systems. Looking ahead, the company will continue driving innovation with cutting-edge technologies, superior products, and broader global deployment, advancing the battery industry toward new heights and contributing to the global energy transformation.

From June 3 to 5, the 19th SNEC PV+ International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
