On March 11, His Excellency Lim Lork Piseth, Undersecretary of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce, led a delegation to Guangdong Highstar New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Guangdong Highstar”) for an inspection and exchange. The delegation was warmly received by Chen Hui, Global Investment Deputy General Manager of Highstar’s controlling shareholder Shanghai PRET Composites Co., Ltd.; Zhao Guangbo, Deputy General Manager of Guangdong Highstar; and Li Liang, Marketing Director of Smart Energy (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on overseas investment opportunities, electric two-wheeler battery-swapping solutions, and commercial & industrial energy storage projects, jointly mapping out a new blueprint for international cooperation in green energy.

The delegation toured Guangdong Highstar’s R&D center, product exhibition hall, and smart manufacturing base, gaining detailed insights into the company’s core technological achievements and industrial applications in lithium/sodium battery energy storage systems, solid/semi-solid state battery cells, and other fields. The delegation highly commended Highstar’s self-developed, high-safety, long-life, high-efficiency battery cells as well as its multi-scenario energy storage solutions. They noted that Highstar’s technological roadmap aligns closely with Cambodia’s strategic goals of advancing green transportation and building a low-carbon energy system.

During the subsequent symposium, Chen Hui introduced Highstar’s global development strategy and its expansion plans in Southeast Asia. He emphasized Cambodia’s role as a key economic growth engine in the ASEAN region and the vast potential of its renewable energy market. Highstar aims to leverage its advanced technologies to deepen collaboration with Cambodia in energy storage, supporting local energy structure optimization and low-carbon economic development.

HE Lim Lork Piseth praised Highstar’s innovative capabilities in energy storage and its global vision. He highlighted Cambodia’s ongoing efforts to accelerate green energy transition through policy incentives to attract foreign investment in renewable energy and new infrastructure projects. Highstar’s technological leadership and extensive commercialization experience in energy storage and battery-swapping solutions, he noted, will significantly contribute to Cambodia’s energy supply system enhancement and electric mobility transitionThe Cambodian side seeks a long-term partnership with Highstar, exploring innovative mechanisms in government-enterprise collaboration, technology commercialization, and cross-border R&D to set a benchmark for green energy cooperation in Southeast Asia.
